HEY! WE'RE DREW & MOLLIE ADAMS
Being a “different business” than everyone else in your market can actually be pretty hard sometimes! Ever wonder how to have a similar business to others, but be intentional about being YOU? Look no further than The Mandagies! This power couple started their brand organically and has created a niche that serves travelers in an accessible and authentic way. Read on to learn more about how to help your business stand out!
Be Real with Yourself
The Mandagies brand started organically! Berty loved taking pictures and creating content on Instagram that was beautiful and thought out. That’s it! Starting your business as just “something that you love to do” is underrated. It keeps you focused on the right things. That way, once you actually grow your passion into an actual business, your WHY is in the right place.
Listen to your customers
Emily and Berty started taking pictures and traveling together. Throughout their adventures, their Instagram followers would ask “Where is that?” or “How did you get there?”. After many times typing out the same answers on Instagram comments, they decided to start a blog. Then they were able to point their followers to one concentrated corner of the internet that they could control and make their own. Listening to your customers helps you create products that they want to see and use. Those products, through continuous refinement, push your business away from the pack and into your own specific lane.
One Step At a Time
The Mandagies blog wasn’t at the top from the start. It took some time to get there! Being committed to your craft and your business, even if it is for a longer period of time than you would prefer, will eventually separate you from your competitors. Consistency is the name of the game. Keep showing up, keep posting, keep writing. That consistency (I like to call it the engine) combined with authenticity and passion (the gasoline), your business can stand out from the crowd.
Relatability
There are a few pillars that the Mandagies business is set on. Being relatable to people and creating content that anyone anywhere can use is their bread and butter. They have a passion for getting ALL people to see the beauty in the world and to be able to experience it themselves. This is why their content is so relatable to people. It’s not a travel blog full of $50,000 vacations. It’s a blog with stories and soul that anyone of any background can use and envision themselves actually taking that trip or having that experience. Relating to your target audience is and will always be something that keeps people coming back to your business time and time again.
