HEY! WE'RE DREW & MOLLIE ADAMS

I know we’ve all thought it before: How do I repurpose content from one form to another? Say that you really like that blog you’re going to post this week. You have a social media post prepared to promote the blog. Later, you are planning your podcast for the month. You realize that your blog post would also make a great podcast. How do you repurpose that content? That’s what I’m going to share with you today! We will start with a blog, and go through four different ways you can repurpose that blog into powerful content for your followers! Let’s jump in!
The first way to repurpose that blog content is by creating a social media post. Rely on the outline that you created to write your blog. Is there something simple, maybe a single point, that could be used as a caption or thought provoking question? You want to engage your audience on social media. Use your blog content to inspire people to think and then call them to action.
The second way that you can reuse your content is by creating a video. Videos can be used on your website or on social media. Again, lean on your outline for the blog you wrote. You can expound on a topic or point, maybe sharing a more in-depth story. A video is a great way to help the audience follow the story and help them relate to what you are sharing.
Personally, this is my favorite way to repurpose content: infographics! Data tells a story. Just like an oral story, data can take the audience on a journey. It teaches them lessons, shares valuable insights, and allows them to apply concepts in their own lives. To create infographics using your blog content, find meaningful statistics from what you wrote about. Whether it be a technical manufacturing process, or the health benefits of cycling, you can find data that will help you create an engaging infographic.
The fourth way that you can repurpose the blog content that you wrote is by recording a podcast. Podcasts, like videos, can help take the audience on a journey by telling a story. Relationships are what people want the most. Sharing personal experience with your audience will help them relate to you, and make them want more from you! Simply take your outline from your blog, and use it as talking points for your podcast, weaving in personal (yet concise) stories and experiences as you talk.
As you can tell, there are multiple ways to use the same content across many channels to communicate to your audience and customers. Going back to our example, I use a blog as my first form of communication, but going even farther back, I started with an outline. Most everything that you want to communicate starts with an outline. Use this to your advantage! You can choose the form after you create an outline. This allows you the flexibility of being able to reuse that content in the future.
